Our Tearooms are open daily (except Good Friday, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) 10.00 am to 5.30 pm with last orders taken at 5.00 pm, 4.30 pm for Traditional High Teas. We offer tea from around the world delivered to the table with traditional silver service. Devonshire Teas are the specialty of the house. These are ideal for morning or afternoon tea.
Partake of lunch or light refreshments in our tearooms, set amongst antiques and bric-a-brac. Enjoy our famous Traditional High Tea, with a variety of coffees, teas, milkshakes, smoothies or soft drinks.
Traditional High Tea for two: sandwiches and scones with assorted home-made biscuits and cakes, delivered to your table silver service on a traymobile, and served on delicate china. A true indulgence and reminiscent of decades past.
Devonshire Tea: two freshly baked scones served with fresh whipped cream, strawberry jam and accompanied by tea or coffee.
Please do not refer to your afternoon tea as a 'high tea'. Remember, a high tea is served in the late afternoon or early evening (5 pm to 7 pm), taking the place of dinner. It is served at a 'high' table with seated place settings. The foods are heartier and consist of salads, one or two hot dishes, pot pies, cold chicken, sliced meats, cakes, fruit tarts, custards and fresh fruits. The tea may be served hot or iced. The addition of any supper dish would be appropriate.
Whereas our Traditional High Tea is served at table with all items having been prepared in-house on the day specifically for the occasion.
Guests are welcome to bring your own (BYO) champagne for a completely decadent Traditional High Tea experience. We do charge corkage at $2.20 per person and provide champagne flutes.
We recommend for Traditional High Teas or groups of more than 6 people that you book in advance. Don't forget your camera!
